It's really pretty strange but every time I insert the Globe Visibility broadband modem in the right USB port of my MBP, the 'book shuts down and reboots. When I insert it on the left USB port, it doesn't. The modem brand I use is ZTE and please, let's leave Jun Lozada out if this . Anybody hazard a guess why this happens? Thanks

try to check your ports in disk utility, check also permissions (and repair if necessary), then reboot...

my right side usb port couldn't recognize my iphone usb cable but the left does, but when i did disk utility and repaired permissions, it finally worked on both ports...

Thanks. However, i can't see where ports can be verified in Disk Utility. Could it be another utility?
