    yep. http://store.steampowered.com/

[edit] Aside from Portal, if you own Torchlight (bought direct from Runic Games) you could use the serial key of the PC version and activate it on the Mac Steam client, you get Mac version free.

Best news yet, Portal is FREE!.

I have to say it again. Portal is FREE!

    (Until May 24th.)

    Ok, one stupid, stupid thing!

Steam requires that Steam.app/Contents/MacOS be created on a case-insensitive file system, with read-write access!

Woe for you (and me) who've formatted their hard disks using case-sensitive HFS!

It's still great that Steam finally came to OS X. We now have a game app store for our Macs and its similarly priced as well. A bit cheaper but it should be a good spend of $5 or $10.

Your steam client is downloading updates. Try downloading Portal again after the updates finish. OR - create a steam account before downloading any games.

Also downloading Portal. So what happens if you already bought the game before? It won't expire on the 24th?

Not as big as HL2 but they're not really in the same genre of video games. I finished Portal in 4 hours.

I found a workaround for Steam for people like me who formatted their hard drives to be case-sensitive.

The basic idea is to first create a new partition, and this time format that partition to be not-case sensitive. Then, aside from installing Steam.app there, you'll need to create a few more folders that Steam requires, and make symbolic links for them where Steam expects to find them.

I've posted the details on my blog:
    http://alistairisrael.wordpress.com/2010/05/13/steam-on-mac-case-sensitive-workaround/

    Downloading Portal now. :)

Unfortunately it looks like TF2 for Mac is not yet available... I hope it comes soon, after all, Portal and TF2 were in the private beta for the Mac client :)

For now I am downloading Portal. :D

Oh God, I think I misread your post. :p

I'm playing Portal now and I honestly think the Windows version looks better. The "Transmission Received" patch and Achievement are also missing. It's essentially the same game, though.

I'm playing Torchlight and I'm always getting this "out of sync" error whenever I start a game. When I quit Torchlight, Steams shows that it's syncing to their server. Anybody experiencing the same problem?
Also, achievements are not being updated.
