‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ Runtime Is Shorter Than Expected | Variety
They just released the first official clip showing a desert chase and "flying" stormtroopers...
Managed to grab two Directors Club tickets for this on December 20. Can't wait!
mm...okay lang 141 minutes. Two large coke zeros. 141 minutes = I can hold my bladder that length of time. Anything more than that, I d be wearing adult diaper. Not gonna move my butt during this screening.
The evolution of Stormtroopers across the Star Wars movies, spinoffs and TV shows. Never really realized that there were that many iterations of this iconic design...
SWROS will be the last movie this year to break the billion-dollar barrier in cinema. The only question for it is how long it will take to reach that goal.
So dec 20 is the premiere of this star wars movie? Until when will it be shown, dec 23? Then on january when will it be shown back in cinema?
I’ve been rewatching the whole saga to prep for this Saturday. Watched Rogue One last night. Loved it then, even more now. It may not have the gravitas of V or VIII, but in some ways it’s my favorite of the saga so far.
I’m thinking of starting a thread ranking all eleven films after we’ve seen IX.
Not a big Star Wars fan but I did enjoy the Lucas’ directed ones. I find the new ones a bit lackluste. It took me several rewatches to finish The Last Jedi because I always fall asleep. Hahahaha
Rogue One satisfied the major plot thread of Episode IV about Rebel spies being able to secure digital blueprints of the Death Star. To see their heroic stand and sacrifice makes RO a superb addition to the Star Wars Universe.
The movie opens with mixed reviews with a Metacritic rating of 53%
Rottentomatoes has the rating at 62%. Expect the rating to fluctuate, however it will never match the 90%+ rating of its predecessor.
Reviews are noting that it packs so much offering little substance. Personally, I'll see it for my self.
From the reviews I read, its full of fan service. I guess the backlash TLJ got affected their direction severely
Collider called it so succinctly as “full of horseshit.” So much for critics. But since when did watching Star Wars become less of fan service and more of canon substance? I actually don’t care. It’s the best science fiction movie of all time. It’s the greatest space fantasy of all time. It’s what we waited for since a little known sci-fi called Star Wars: A New Hope debuted in 1977 to little if not less than stellar acceptance. It’s the end of an era.
Certified "rotten". There goes the billion dollar dream?
Nevertheless, I Will be watching it on Friday.
Same. Such a shame that The Last Jedi is critically acclaimed (although fans have been mixed about it), but this movie, which closes the trilogy bombs with the critics, it's not a good sign. I'll lower my expectations when I get to see it tomorrow.
I couldnt care less if the rating is 100 % or zero. By golly this is Star Wars ! .....snagged tickets for Sunday.
I'm watching the movie on Friday. After that, I'll binge the new Witcher series on Netflix.
I was hoping this would redeem this trilogy. I haven't seen it yet though. The last two movies for me was disappointing. I really needed to force awaken myself watching The Force Awakens. The Last Jedi's scene with Daisy Ridley an Mark Hamil's training "feel the force", was awful....cringe is the word.
Honestly, movies nowadays are just copying James Cameron's True Lies formula, where it gives a serious tone and suddenly inserts and unexpected joke. It's very different from the usual comic relief.
