Sorry if this question seems basic as I'm new to Safari.

How can I sort the bookmarks in a bookmarks folder on the bookmarks bar? I've been dragging & dropping bookmarks in a bookmarks folder to arrange the bookmarks in an alphabetical order.

Is there a way to highlight all the bookmarks in the folder & click (something) to arrange them alphabetically according to the bookmark names?

Thanks in advance for any advice on this.

click the book icon on the leftmost side of the bar where your bookmark folders are. you will then be presented with all your bookmark folders. click one to see all items in the folder and then drag and drop to re arrange.

Thanks for the tip. Is there a way to automatically sort by name?

The only way i could think of is you drag and drop your bookmarks according to your preference. just slide them.

I use an app called Bookdog ($19.95, 14-day free trial) to sort my bookmarks (Safari, Firefox, etc.). This must be one of the earliest Mac apps that I installed, has worked really well for me over the past several years. If you want a free solution, you can try Safari Bookmark Sorter. It hasn't been updated since March 27, 2006, so I'm not sure if it'll work under Leopard/Snow Leopard.

    Thanks Patrick!

    I'll look into both.

    Cheers!

This is one of the reasons why I don't use Safari. But thanks for the information!
