Highly considering getting the a6000 (~ 29k brand new). Is there a newer model right around the corner that I don't know about that I should wait for -- either to lower the price for the a6000 or to have a newer model, period? I know the a6300 is out but I'm not sure if that's the direct successor to the a6000.
Cool; must be getting my information mixed up due to reading old and new articles/discussions. I do find the price of the a6300 prohibitive though, so would you say that the a6000 is still a good buy today?
hi guys, i've created a new facebook group that welcomes all enthusiasts of any mirrorless camera brands, either from fuji, sony, olympus, panasonic, etc. i know users here are either using two or more systems, or have switched between different ones. i hope to see you and your photos there, thanks! https://www.facebook.com/groups/mirrorlessphotographyphilippines/
Hi guys! What lens will you recommend between these two: Sony E-Mount Lens f1.8 50mm standard prime lens Or Sammyang f1.5 85mm lens? ^_^
Speaking of MF, I recently acquired some old Minolta glass for my aging NEX-5n: Minolta MD 35-70 F3.5 Macro Minolta MD 50 F2
Hi guys, Any A6300 users here? Is it worth it to get the a6500 for $400 more or just get the a6300 and spend the extra $400 on glass or maybe a gimbal(if for use for video)?
^ I haven't checked the new features of the a6500 but $400 is a lot of money. I would seriously think this thoroughly if the extra features are worth it. My dream replacement for my 5n is the A7 series, hope I can get it in a couple of years time. For now, my 5n is still chugging along.
Hello Folks, my NEX-7 has already lived up its purpose and has been replaced with an A6500 for that much-needed In Body Image Stabilization (IBIS) and fast auto-focus. Primarily, I use it to capture aircraft photos with my nifty SEL18-200LE. After initial tests last Sunday, set to AF-Continuous, I noticed that it's a bit slow when taking burst shots to capture a speeding commercial aircraft as it approaches the runway. I'm not sure though if it could be the 5-year old zoom lens that's causing this since the new camera body is known to have a lot better IQ/performance. I'm still contemplating at acquiring the Sony 70-200 F4 but perhaps I should continue testing using my existing lens, hoping to save some moolah as long as I could take snaps with acceptable sharpness, which is essential for image submissions. Thanks for your thoughts
Purchased an a6000 from BnH for just 500 bucks. Comes with a camera bag and extra battery - good deal. Now I wait for Johnny Air to deliver it. The a6000 is priced as Fujifilm's low end xa3 but with better specs - this Sony is probably the best bang for your buck mirrorless cam out there.
I will see. Hahaha. But based on my experience most probably around 1 to 2k. I basically bought a brand new cam for around 25K pesos (all in). Thats the on going rate here for second hand a6000s with the kit lens. The cheapest brand new ones I have seen are offered at 33K however they were gray market. The local units go for 35 to 40K. I will update this thread for the actual price of the delivery once I get the unit
Can’t wait for my mount adapter to arrive so I can play with this on my Sony A6000: Great way to practice shooting with a fixed focal length without breaking the bank.
Cool! I've been using the first set of available (brandless) adapters when the NEX-7 came out so I could mount a Nikkor 50mm 1.8. So far, it's still usable on my A6500 but I haven't been reading much lately to find out whether there are better options these days.
Nikon to NEX mount ba? I see a couple AF adapters from Commlite and Metabones kaso they are pricey and most of the time the AF functions are so limited. Best to go for native lenses. Aiming to upgrade to A6500 next, the IBIS makes life with manual lenses easier.
