Reminds me of the F505 we had in early 2000

The NEX-5 is at $699 with the 18-55 kitlens, I think.

There is a full review already at Imaging Resource

    http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/NEX5/NEX5A.HTM

BTW, I'm not from Sony, OK? :D

It's just that I'm still on the fence about all of these mirrorless systems as I still have my LX3 and DSLR. The price of the system is still the deciding factor right now.

With this, it will surely bring down prices of u4/3 and that is good for us consumers.

And we haven't even seen Nikon/Canon's version yet. :)

I think Photokina later this year will be quite exciting! :)

propriety lenses FTL...:( sony really sucks with this... remember the memory stick?

it would of been awesome to have all the companies stick to the same lens mount for the 4/3 to create diversity.

I just realized that Samsung also used a new mount for its Mirror-less camera!!!

Even if adapters are available, AF will not work :(

    Yup, you are all right...

This is a promising system from one point of view....

However, whether we are convinced enough to shift to change systems depends on what kind of shooting options you need. At the moment the choice of lenses is quite limited for the NEX range .....

I feel like I am cheating on my LX3 just by looking at this new camera. ;)

There's a rumored NEX 7 coming in Photokina to go up against the rumored premium u4/3 camera to be introduced at the same time

    It's $549.99 for the 16mm, and $599.99 for the 18-55mm

Regardless of the image quality, I still think that the Micro 4/3rds is more sustainable model for the mere fact that it maintains full compatibility with the other non micro 4/3rds lenses. Also, the NEX system looks awkward especially when compared to the PEN and the GF1.
