Just got the bouncing Software Update icon on my Dock:

    1) Airport Client Update 2009-001 1.0 (1.8MB)

This update is recommended for all Intel-based Macintosh computers running Mac OS X 10.5.6. It addresses issues with roaming and network selection in dual-band environments.

    2) iLife Support 9.0.1 (3.7MB)

This update improves overall stability and addresses a number of other minor issues. It is recommended for all users of Aperture, iLife ’09, and iWork ’09.

    3) Airport Utility Software Update 2009-001 5.4.1 (19.5MB)

This update includes general fixes and compatibility updates for the following applications: AirPort Utility and AirPort Base Station Agent, including AirPort Disk Utility for Tiger.

    Re: Software Updates

Thanks for the info, Raf… I usually find out from posts like this way ahead of the Software Update app in my iMac or MBA. Right now, all it is showing is an Aperture update. Would you know why the advisory is often late (at least for my machines)? Anything to do with Preferences or some such thing?

Oftentimes, I tend to think my machines don't need the updates that come out…

    Re: Software Updates

    Thanks docraf for the headsup!

My Powerbook PowerPC G4 12" has these updates:

    1. Airport Utility Software Update 2009-001

This update includes general fixes and compatibility updates for the following applications: AirPort Utility and AirPort Base Station Agent, including AirPort Disk Utility for Tiger.

    2. Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 2.5 (I think this is an old update)

This update extends RAW file compatibility for Aperture 2, iPhoto ’08, and iPhoto ’09 for the following cameras:

    Nikon D3X
    Epson R-D1x

It also addresses issues related to specific cameras and overall stability

    3. iLife Support

This update improves overall stability and addresses a number of other minor issues. It is recommended for all users of Aperture, iLife ’09, and iWork ’09

Funny, but I don't have Aperture, iLife 09 or iWork 09 installed, yet it's being recommended.
No LX3 update included for RAW compatibility?

@docraf: I think the title of this thread should be shortened, as those replying ends up with a warning that the title is too long :)

    Re: Software Updates:

@maclife: Strange indeed. I don't have Aperture iLife/iWork 09 either. The digital camera update I got the other day. Again, with the bouncing SU icon. I hadn't read about it on the thread.

@soloworx: I don't know why but with the 4 updates this week, they've been earlier than usual. Usually, I read about them here in PhilMUG first before SU updates/detects it by itself. With these three, they showed up before I had read about them in a posted thread. Not really sure how it works.

Coverflow and iPhoto also uses it to read photos from supported cameras (the same API or functionality Aperture uses). If you don't have the cameras that just got supported, you can opt to skip. :)
