Hi Raymond! Since the ability to fax's already built into Panther, you might want to try these MacWorld tips first before buying any commercial fax software. Hope this helps.
Hmmm...can you try the previously cited tips, Raymond? If I remember right, print & fax were already consolidated in Jaguar. Kindly look under System Prefs. [Edited on 8-12-2004 by Arel]
i tried the tips, but the fax and print tab doesn't show. thanks for your patience in helping me arel dud
You can always do a search at VersionTracker. You could try FAXstf X 10.5.2. It is fully supported and endorsed by Apple. The Apple Store sells it for $89.95. It's meant for Jaguar users. EDIT: Apple sells the PRO version. You could download the demo version from the above link. [Edited on 8-12-2004 by elbertc]
No worries, Raymond! What version of Jaguar do you have? Have you upgraded to 10.2.8? If the Print & Fax Systems Pref still doesn't show up, try out Elbert's suggestion. Good luck!
adel yes i have, weird! well thanks for all your help. got the faxstf. thanks elbert. to add, how do i send a word document? is it possible? or i have to print and scan it? thanks again for all your help
I wouldn't recommend this software. Please check the VT user reviews, and the overall rating. Personally, I gave up on FAXstf and Smith Micro a long time ago. I would recommend Page Sender instead. Shareware, not free, but it works very well. [Edited on 8-12-2004 by gonz]
After installing the fax application, there should be a FAX button in the Print dialogue box (Cmd + P) in any application. No need to 'print-and-scan', it's direct to fax. [Edited on 8-12-2004 by elbertc]
I sent a fax using Page Sender to my Client just now. I've been sending word documents using this app and so far no problems at all. I just dunno how to receive fax through my Powerbook. I just wish I don't have to connect to a phone line anymore, since I'm always online via dsl. Is there a way where I can dial fax numbers through my dsl connection?
