Hi folks. I think that it's important for us laptop users to know the SMTP addresses the various providers out there. Some connections don't allow the use of third party outgoing servers (i.e. .Mac, Gmail, Yahoo), so it's handy to have various SMTP addresses set up in Mail. While we're at it, let's include SMTPs for prepaid ISPs as well. Here are the ones I know: Eastern: smtp.eastern.com.ph Destiny: smtp.mydestiny.net Globe (WIZ. GPRS): mail.globenet.com.ph ISP Bonanza: smtp.ispbonanza.com.ph Infocom/PLDT: smtp.info.com.ph or smtp.pldtdsl.net
sun gprs 202.138.128.1 smart gprs 292.57.96.3 i use smtp.gmail.com just tick the ssl secure connection, use port 465
I'm on PLDT DSL and during times when the Infocom and/or PLDTDSL SMTP fails, I use Gmail's. Of course, you need a gmail account. smtp.gmail.com requires SSL on port 465 and authentication using your user/pass
I'm trying to help a friend configure his email for use with SMART GPRS. I tried using 292.57.96.3 as the SMTP server. Apparently it is not an SMTP server. Does anyone know what the SMTP for SMART GPRS is? EDIT: I just tried smtp.info.com.ph and it worked. SMART GPRS/EDGE SMTP is smtp.info.com.ph [Edited on 5-22-2005 by elbertc]
For the i-manila users. We are doing some testing of SMTP auth systems so you can use your i-manila e-mail with anybody's access. JBD can clue you in if you want to know the details since he's the one implementing this feature.
Does anyone know if the SMTP of SMART GPRS has (or will) change? For now, smtp.info.com.ph it works, but since PLDT has replaced that for myDSL subscribers, I'm thinking they might be doing the same for Smart GPRS. Thanks. [Edited on 6-27-2005 by elbertc]
Here's an email I received from Mike Antigua of Airborne Access: To be able to send email from a WiFi hotspot, set your SMTP to "smtp.airborneaccess.net". If you still encounter problems in the hotspot, contact our tech support at 633-9434.
Here's for Meridian: smtp.meridian.ph Netvigator mail.netvigator.com Peoples GPRS smtp.peoples.com.hk [Edited on 6-27-2005 by longbeard]
now cable.. was using smtp.info.com.ph before, not sure now. btw, they have change the smart gprs to smtp.info.com.ph thanks of the head ups
I'm out of town right now and can't seem to send out email using Smart GPRS. No one in Smart seems to know what their SMTP server address is. I've been trying smtp.info.com.ph to no avail. I've tried using two different powerbooks and three different phones (and lines, for that matter). Same settings. In fact, I haven't changed anything on my PowerBook, which used to be able to send using the infocom SMTP. Connecting to GPRS is no problem. Internet and POP access is fine. It's really just outgoing email that's a b*tch. I'm trying to send out from a myDestiny account, therefore, its own SMTP won't work the way .Mac's or Gmails would. I'm now concluding that either Smart has changed its SMTP or the smtp.info.com.ph server is down. Would anyone here know? Thanks.
Many people are having a difficult time sending out email these past few days via PLDT DSL's SMTP server. If you are one of them, you can try this server instead: smtpdsl.pldtdsl.net
I have a gmail account over a MyDSL connection and can't seem to send anything over their smtp servers. Do I have to use SSL? TIA
