^Well for heavy usage it would not last that long.
For heavy use you have to plug it all day.
My e5776 is perpetually plugged to my powerbank.
PLAN 599 and 999 is coming soon.
LTE Postpaid Plans and Packages - SMART Broadband - SMART Communications
Just got Plan 599 at Smart Store SM San Lazaro. It's 1.5GB only but more than enough for oldies who skype and use messaging app most of the time.
Last week, Smart issued me an Alcatel LTE modem which kept shutting off during use... My assistant brought it to Smart to have it replaced with another model... Smart's rep and the manager told her that there were no other models except the Alcatel... I told her to demand a refund... She was told Smart's policy was no refunds, just exchange and they can only exchange the modem with another Alcatel...
After informing that manager of the provisions of the consumer protection laws in the country including the possible penalty of 1 year to 5 years imprisonment for violators, it took them less than a minute to produce a Huawei modem...
Beware of Alcatel Y800. Users have been plagued with issuessss.
I use the y800 as well and i have not experienced any issue yet.....i dont use it for anything heavy though since i have a dsl at home...
It shuts down when it gets hot. If I am using it heavily I remove the battery cover and place it in its dock with a USB fan directed at it.
You can have it replaced or refunded within 60 days of purchase.
Who needs LTE if 3G is this good already.
Very happy with the purchase!
Those who need upload more than download. I'm currently paying the P5/15 min rate of Globe and the bucket plans of Smart so I can upload video files to clients, partners and suppliers.
And I can't really say 14mbps is good at all.
Is it possible to upgrade the account to 999 is the 1.5 GB is not enough? Or, do you need to get another sim & account to ove up to 999?
you can upgrade since theis plan has no lock up. same sim will be used.
Yup, just upgrade. 3G plan 999 users though will have a harder time migrating since they need to terminate and then apply for a new LTE plan.
Just got the Alcatel Y800 (prepaid) yesterday from the Smart retail store and am testing the included free 7 days unli LTE for now.
So far I'm satisfied with it for what I need it for. (General browsing, YouTube , email). It loads 720p YouTube pretty quick. But I'm not getting speeds up to par with what LTE speeds should be.
Been using it in the Taguig Fort/McKinley Hills area where I'm only getting around 4-6 Mbps download speed, although yesterday I tried it along EDSA while stuck in traffic and was able to do a FaceTime call quite smoothly, which I was pleased with. Forgot to do a speedtest unfortunately. Do you guys think it's the area causing the low speed?
One thing I noticed was how quickly a fully charged battery drops one bar on the battery meter after no more than about an hour of use. Explains why they included an extra battery as stated in a previous post.
From experience, the Alcatel unit is a POS. You can force smart to replace it with the huawei which works better.
Could you elaborate on why?
Also which Huawei model would they replace it with
Overheats too easily. Slower than the huawei in side-by-side comparison. Battery runs out really fast. Physically big.
Here's what they issued as a replacement.
