5G small cells by PLDT-Smart seem to be starting to pop around. They’re attached to utility poles, similar to the deployment being done by US carriers (Photos from the Big Time Show Community on Facebook)
Even me here at Santa Rosa city, nghhingalo, i ended up using globe for my data needs... but the good thing about their signal is hindi aq nttwagan from work
Nice to know... My Smart contract expires this month. Will be trying this. Are they charging you anything for the unlock?
Do you have higher than usual bill this December? I did nothing unusual and I have additional charges of more or less Php 1,200. And my unbilled charges is also racking up daily. I don't get it. Smart reps (because I called multiple times) said they had a technical glitch last December 15, and they will monitor my account. It is puzzling to me that they couldn't verify what the additional charges are; they said they need the statement to be generated first. I asked how will I know what it is I should stop doing if you cannot tell me what it is? Silence.
^but i could not even consume my data allocation. i am left with 2-2.5 GB before the monthly refresh. let's see what the statement will indicate.
I terminated my Smart postpaid line because of repetitive consumption of my 9GB monthly allocation when my phone tells me I only used 7GB. I'm now on prepaid and I cut my monthly expenses more than half.
I have the same issue in my account. My unbilled charges is now 1500 yet i still have a 200 mb for data usage.
oh no, this is worrying. this is my 12th month with them and i am always within my plan consumption. this is the first time i exceeded (allegedly )
Disappointed with their new Gigasurf99 inclusion. I can't avail as many as I want considering I already consumed all open-access allocation and i'm under All-In Plan. Why do I need to wait for the initial registration validity to expire. Looks like i'll just pre-terminate my plan then.
Me. Got charged an additional 500+ on my Dec bill and I also have running charges which I'm currently monitoring. It had something to do with being charged for data (5php every 15 mins) even though I had plenty of data allocation left. I had to call them twice in a week to file two disputes (the other one is for a recurring GigaSurf subscription that for some reason I can't cancel from my end). It's a good thing they reversed the charges, although they did make it seem that I should be grateful to them for the reversal, and tbh this didn't really sit well with me, but I'm a doormat so hey, I'm okay I guess. I also asked for the running charges, was told we really need to wait for it on the next statement.
They reversed the unbilled charges for me too. Rep referred to it as "system glitch" which he said started 12 December.
Anyone experience this scenario with Smart? 1. Renewed plan at 1800;locked in at 35 months with free device. 2. 8 months later decided to upgrade to a Smart Infinity plan; Smart approved upgrade. 3. Now, its another 5 months and I want to downgrade my plan back to 1800. Technically the contract that I signed up for the locked in was the Plan 1800. Any idea if this is possible?
I terminated my new Smart postpaid Plan 999 with iPhone XS Max 64 GB almost a month since I contracted it. BOTTOM LINE? I was charged on my first billing statement with every minute of data usage and voice calls even though my plan came with a 4.5 GB data allocation and 50 minutes of voice allocation. Good thing I found out a few days before the contract turned one month. I immediately wrote to Alex Caeg, Smart's Head of Wireless Consumer Division, and copied Rey Espinosa, Smart's Chief Corporate Services Officer as well as my RM, and told them I am terminating the subscription without any damage on my part, invoking a provision in the NTC Consumer Protection Guidelines that postpaid accounts can be terminated by a consumer within 30 days from date of contracting without the responsibility of a pre-termination fee. I returned the unit and cancelled the subscription last November 24 at their Smart Wireless Center, and a week later, they refunded the advanced MSF and device amortization I paid. Case settled. Thanks to close monitoring of NTC Consumer Protection & Advocacy Bureau.
I might be doing the same if they don't allow my request to unlock the eSIM on my iPhone XS Max. Planning to use the physical sim slot (Smart) and Globe (esim). What the use of having that feature if they won't allow. I'm just not sure if they can unlock just the esim part.
