Smart (and Globe) is getting threatened by the vaporware DITO telecoms. Smart is trying to get as much money from subscribers as possible, until DITO disrupts (hopefully) the market with unlimited data. Even the Enterprise Extensions plans ditched the unlimited-data offerings, AFAIK. And BTW, it is interesting to see Globe's presentation desperately trying to justify their data caps.
SMART's 5G rollout in pilot areas mentioned in their PR is a bluff. Been using my S20 Ultra 5G since July 30 until today an yet haven't seen any sight of 5G signal. Even their Megamall store which is a 5G hotspot the 5G is not appearing.
I got two 999 and one 1500 plan unlimited data plans for my kids. They're still working. I have tested mine in my office Makati Salcedo side and it works pretty fast, but in Muntinlupa, it slows significantly but still not bad enough for me to complain. I just hope they don't change it with what's going on these days.
Maybe you need to locate the transceiver and stand two to three meters away to get that elusive signal.
Sadly, you cannot leverage the SIM-only postpaid plans to get a new smartphone. If you do then unlimited data is gone.
you need direct line of sight As for Smart's 5G, do you need to have it registered? or as long as your Smart SIM is on a 5G phone, your phone should get 5G?
i'm inside MEGAMALL store alredy. i called SMART tech support and they told me as long as you sim is LTE already it's 5G capable so they configured my profile.
it's hidden inside their office. as long as you're within 5 to 10 meters away you should be able to receive it.
business subscribers not mentioned. maybe in the future. https://smart.com.ph/About/newsroom...roves-call-quality-with-wi-fi-calling-service
I'm able to use VoWifi. Does it also work the other way around when someone calls me when I only have a wifi signal?
