skype video with isight?

    i heard the new skype (pc version) has video capabilities already. does the mac version have video, as well? if so, can u use isight as ur webcam for skype?

    Skype for Mac has no video as of yet.

    Hi I got to use the PC version of Skype on my laptop . the quality is pretty good.

    I'm currently using Skype v1.5 w/ video (BETA) and so far, it works fine with my Logitech QuickCam, except for the rare crash here and there.

    Now I'm thinking about getting an iSight to use with Skype. Has anyone gotten iSight to work with Skype w/ video?

    Ok, will try this official beta release.

    25.07.2006: Skype for Mac version 1.5.0.47 Video Preview

    • Feature: video calling :)
    Known issues
    • CPU load is very high when in a video call
    • Skype has to be restarted in order to detect a new camera
    • Problems when video preferences are opened during a video call
    • Delays when enabling video, and when video call is resumed
    • Pausing a call in full-screen mode closes the full-screen window
    • If video is stopped while in a call with a Windows user, the call has to be restarted for the video to work properly

    has anybody tested it with the macbook pro's isight? i can't find the buttons or any preference setting to turn on video.

    Thanks for the link, i was able to talk to my niece in Washington, her using window machine and me using my apple mac.
