whats the best sit extractor for the macbook?
i understand sit is like zip right? wanted to try out acdsee for mac and its in sit format kasi.

so basically what i need is a winrar (i consider this the best all around pc file extractor/compresser...better than winzip) equivalent for mac.

    and advice for a newbie?:)
    links would be fantastic...tnx!

    Here's your link...

The Universal Binary version is in beta and freely downloadable here. Significant speed improvements when unstuffing large files on Intel Macs.

after downloading the latest stuffit, i tried expanding the acdsee trial i downloaded yesterday na sit. problem was i couldnt find the files...empty! the program finished extracting the files but cant be seen in the finder/desktop. 20mins of thinking hard and long trying to figure out what happend... i had to reboot my system to see the files.

you had lots of problems on your mac? anyway, as i have said, just download stuffit 9 coz they never bothered to fix v.10 and i don't know what improvement they did but v.9 serves the same purpose for me. do a search on google, it might take some time though.

yeah...i tried to prepare best i could my transition from my pc setup to mac. study my workflow and check if i can do the same on the mac. i though i did but i guess i was mistaken.
unfortunately i hit a couple of snags right for the start. expecting a product the "just works" it hasnt felt that way yet. im trying to learn fast but so far it hasnt sinked in yet.

1st problem was after installing CS2...adobe bridge wouldnt start. it just fails to start.
but since i didnt plan to use bridge in my workflow i didnt bother with it nalang.

just yesterday when i planed to install bootcamp and winxp, i hit the biggest snag. i got a verification error...and disk utility wasnt doing its job...the repair button was greyed out even though it found the problems of the drive during checking. and everyone i talked to suggested reformating my system which is like 5 days old...frustrating. however i persisted and manage to fix the problem eventualy finding APPLE S aka DOS prompt hehe.

now this...tsk tsk. im still optimistic though...hope i can maximize this mac soon so i can start setting up the winXP for those that the OSX just cant do:)
i want to minimize what i load up on my winxp since limited masyado ang HDD ng macbook.

    anyways, thanks annie:)
