contemplating getting sims2 to run on a mac mini G4 but I am concerned whether it will run right. When I look at the specs for the game they list video cards that you should have to play the game, but I am pretty sure the mac mini doesn't have one. Any one with actual experience? I think it is a 1.2 GHz G4 mac mini, running with 512 MB of Ram Thanks,
Better upgrade your memory first. Mine was running on a 2.5ghz PC with 512Ram and ATI 9600XT but there's lags and hiccups while playing. What more on a Mini with a slower processor and video card. Up your memory by at least 1gb.
does this mean that the game won't run? Or it will not be very fast? Or the rendering won't be as detailed? It would be nice to get more specific info. And actual experience using a mac mini g4 would be best. Thanks
It will... here's the requirements... Operating System: Mac OS X 10.3.8 or later CPU Processor: PowerPC G4/G5 CPU Speed: 1.2GHz or faster Memory: 256 MB or higher Hard Disk Space: 3GB free disk space Video Card (ATI): Radeon 9000 or better Video Card (NVidia): GeForce FX5200 or better Video Memory (VRam): 32 MB or higher Media Required: DVD Drive .. just don't expect smooth gameplay.
