    Shiira\'s Icons

What's with the default icons? I love the Aqua feel better than Safari's brush metal look but come on... parang bata namang ang gumawa. So if you want a decent icon replacement, check this one out (If you get a bunch of text, just wait for the page to download and then "Save As" the file. DON'T append the *.txt extension), courtesy of Hick Design.

After you've done that Shiira becomes a lot sleeker, di na nakakahiyang gamitin. Thrown in re-orderable tabs, an intuitively located add-tab button, shared bookmarks with Safari, and a rapid pace of development, it suddenly becomes a contender.

Unfortunately, stability is a major issue, plus a bookmarks bug where most of them would just suddenly disappear and reappear when I customize the bookmarks folder... wala, I just gave up on it. Overall, Shiira is definitely in the right direction, but still needs a lot of work before I consider it as a Safari replacement.

PS. Why doesn't Camino, FireFox, Mozilla and Shiira use OS X's Systemwide Spell Checker? Is it really that hard to implement? Or is there a hack to force its use in all programs?

Ok Shiira uses system wide spell checker, but it's only available through the contextual ctrl-click (that's right click for us switchers) in a text box. :)

By the way, this is the way the Hick's Design icons look:
