Has anybody tried ScreenSpanning Doctor? It is a hack that extends the desktop (not mirror) of supported macs without this feature.

I have, tried it before on an iBook 600Mhz... runs well with no problems. Used it for maybe a month or two, then sold the iBook for an upgrade.

Yup it does. I'm using an 14" ibook, at 1.42Ghz running on 10.4.3. I installed the Spanning Doctor almost 3 week back. It work great. Haven't encountered any problem so far. Crossing my finger :)

I'm primarily a software engineer, and I use my ibook as my primary machine. Having two monitor working on spanning mode really a god sent :)
