Did a search a while ago, and I noticed that no one has mentioned Scorched 3D yet. Anyway, for those who loved the original Scorched Earth game (back in the good old days)... there's a port of it and it's in 3D! Check it out! I'm even thinking of putting up a dedicated server on Scorched 3D. If there's a lot of interest, I might just do so. It's so addicting! http://www.scorched3d.co.uk/
It helps if you have a little commandline (terminal) knowledge, but don't worry, you just need to use simple commands. Make sure that you get the Mac OS X (DMG) version. Get it here. You'll need to have X11 installed and running on your system. After you open the .dmg file, I recommend that you copy the files to a local folder on your hard disk. When X11 launches, a terminal window appears. If not, launch Terminal. Type the command 'xhost +' (without the quotes). This will allow programs to display on X11. Go to the directory where you copied the Scorched 3D files. You can use the 'cd' command. Once inside the Scorched 3D directory, type './scorched3d' (without the quotes). note the period (.) and the slash (/) before scorched3d -- these are needed. Enjoy!
