Re: *** SAMSON Studio Mic *** I bought one at Audiophile at Mall of Asia. Got to admit the audiophile there is the best shop I ever been to so far. Oh yeah make sure you call first because the stocks of the mic is kind of limited. I bought it around 3.8k I think..I don't remember I card it! another note..if your going to buy a stand for desktop don't do it buy the whole stand I made a mistake since I won't be recording sitting down
Re: *** SAMSON Studio Mic *** Mura pala...at that price, makes me wonder why I am so concerned about the slight ambient noise. This mic should be a no-brainer. I was originally planning to buy a Lexicon alpha (P2,500) and maybe an SM57 (P7000) - and even THAT isn't perfect because the SM57's level is too low, not to mention that its susceptible to pops. I heard (but I dont know if I was hearing correctly) that you can record an instrument with this mic, meaning dual input. Is that right?
Re: *** SAMSON Studio Mic *** I haven't tried it, but I think It's feasible, but not with GB, since as far as my experience with the software goes, it only allows one input at a time.
Re: *** SAMSON Studio Mic *** i've had this mic for maybe 2 or more years. its gettin a bit dirty and there's somethin loose inside when i shake it. is that okey?and how do i clean it up? im talking about the c01u. but its still working perfectly
Re: *** SAMSON Studio Mic *** awww... i dont have an idea where to have it checked though. warranty expired a year ago so i guess i should take it to samson local distro if there is a local service center
Re: *** SAMSON Studio Mic *** Have it checked where you bought it, or call Audiophile first and check if they have a service center.
Re: *** SAMSON Studio Mic *** for dual input on garageband, you'll need to create an aggregate device. this should help: http://www.thegaragedoor.com/tutorials/agg.html otherwise, you'll need to get an interface that's capable of multichannel audio input.
Re: *** SAMSON Studio Mic *** I'm screwed I just switched to adobe audition and now my mic can't be detected....yes its working I tried to record with another program...how can it be detected? So messed up... I figured it out....nevermind
Re: *** SAMSON Studio Mic *** if a USB mic is the like the LX3 of a DSLR (pro recording), what's the update on this samson usb mic? is it still the best buy or are there better choices now? for those who regularly record using USB mics, what would be your top 5 USB mics approximating the pro recording studio setup?
Re: *** SAMSON Studio Mic *** I've been using the Samson CO1U, and it actually gives good vocal recordings with very minimal or even no hiss even in a non-sound proofed environment.
Re: *** SAMSON Studio Mic *** I actually did the whole Girl Shake Boy vocals on this! It's good for a budget mic! GSB certified! Hehehe
Re: *** SAMSON Studio Mic *** so no top 5 usb mics eh? only this samson CO1U? not even a competing model from the same brand? planning to use this for vocals/narrative stuff but for future CD reproduction...
Re: *** SAMSON Studio Mic *** around how much does the Co1u go for usually these days? still around 4k like indicated by previous posts?
Re: *** SAMSON Studio Mic *** The Samson CO3U mic seems to be out of stock lately at Audiophile (local dealer) with no word when they will have it again. Anyone knows what other local stores have these on stock for about the same fair price? (5k+) Really need help ASAP...
@travism: thanks! the CO3U though is our priority right now, needed asap - for choir use & musicians' use...
