safari not playing videos help

    safari not playing videos help SOLVED

    i used to be able to watch videos in sites i frequent like youtube and espn. now i cant play them anymore.:(

    my internet connection is ok, i didnt install any new plug ins and i have everything checked in the safari prefs > security > web content.

    i cant seem to play flash too since every website that has flash i get the same icon in the sites with videos. pls help :(

    I also hav problems with video in my Macbook. Specially with yahoo videos. I can play most of the avi movies but some avi's play without sound. Still cant find out why. Ive installed perian and still it wont play

    most web videos are in wmv format. have you installed flip4mac?

    yes i have flip4mac too
    I also asked Nomer of Ynzal regarding this issue and he told me that is a problem with mac.
    CCTVs dont work well with macs too....

    i used to have that problem too. it came up when i installed one of the security updates last year. i eventually had to do an archive and install to fix the problem.

    yup. but i had to restore some settings in some software.
    btw, i dont know if its applicable in your case, but have you looked at applejack? there's a thread about it here.

    i cant seem to find where applejack is after installing...

    i tried creating another admin account and the flash vids play there... i wonder what i should do? help anyone?

    Got a solution for this!

    Quicktime>Advanced settings via System Preferences:
    Enable flash ought to be checked

    go to MIME settings and check use defaults! :D then restart safari and everything will play na :D

    yup i have this plug in as well, i dont know what happened, i was able to view these flash movies before but seems like some of the settings were changed.

    i'm just happy its back up and running again

    what do you mean pr0n?

    Got so nervous when my safari stopped playing video.

    I tried your solution and it worked very well.

    My safari is now back to its "regular performance"!

    I wasnt able to read this post til now. What i did was to reinstall adobe flash again. It worked though.

    I'm having problems again
    Hope someone could help me.
    I used to be able to view the videos here: www.kerygmafamily.com
    but now its says I have to upgrade my flash player.
    But its already updated. Still it wont play the video. Any help? pls?

    My Safari doesn't play videos as well (like the videos in apple.com). I followed the pieces of advice here, but still no dice..

    Go to Disk Utility and try repairing disk permissions.
