I've been testing out Safari 4 Developer Preview on my Mac, and I've been literally scraping my jaw off the floor every single time I use it. It is, hands down, the fastest Mac browser ever created! The upgraded WebKit engine blows away Firefox 3's Gecko engine and even puts to shame the already speedy performance of Safari 3.1. Page rendering is dramatically improved. Using Plurk, which chokes Camino/Firefox, is nearly instantaneous on Safari 4. It also now gets a perfect score on the CSS Acid Test 2. Now it's hard for me to go back to Camino/Safari 3 To preview Safari 4, Go to the Apple Developer Connection Click on the ADC Member Site link at the top right of the page Enter your existing Apple ID (or if you don't have one, sign up for a free Apple ID) Upon logging in, click on the Downloads page You'll find the "Safari" link on the right-side menu There are versions available for Leopard, Tiger, and Windows XP/Vista. Installing Safari 4 will overwrite Safari v3.x on your system. Don't worry, there's an included uninstaller just in case you want to revert back. Installation is painless, but the required restart will be unusually long. Don't panic. Launch and have fun!
