They ditched the Google Chrome tabs on the title bar, which was frankly annoying... I'm with loko_loko, the only reason I don't use Safari that much is the lack of tab management, I do use Firefox, but I use Safari when I have to port research over to my DevonThink database. I can't use Services with Firefox... yet.

Is there a bookmark management software for this? I have mobile me but I don't plan to renew it, ang mahal eh. Parang nagfifreeze ang computer ko for a couple of seconds when foxmarks for Safari updates so I don't want to use that.

Also, is there some command (kahit terminal command) to make the maximize button maximize the window to the width of the screen ala Firefox?

    Thanks!

Crash proof huh? Well, mine is crashing as it tries to start. I'm posting from Firefox, which is running way faster than my Safari ever did.

Will do the usual repair permission and troubleshooting. If not, then I'll be reinstalling Safari.

EDIT: I found the culprit. It was Sogudi wich I hope they update for Safari 4. I deleted the Library folder of Sogudi and Safaru launched. However, Firefox still feels faster. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Firefox user. I'm a diehard Safari fanboy.

I'm using Safari 4 now and so far it seems bit faster then the beta. As for me, Safari seems a bit snappier then the Mac version of Firefox 30.10. I guess the only browser that is faster in my subjective experience is the Windows XP version of Firefox.

As for stability, I'm now using it heavily with other browsers and applications open playing a couple of youtube windows open. So far so good.

Ps. I still think that Firefox's URL prediction scheme is much better then Safari.
Ps. I wonder if the new "Zoom in" feature of Safari is any different from the old "Command-+" shortcut.

What I do notice in this new safari 4.0 is that there is already a 'Create a New Tab' tab. also, noticed the 'toggle the bookmarks bar' tab, the 'show the downloads window' tab. and, then in the address line, it now shows the word 'Loading' whenever a page is still loading in addition to the circling/twirling arrow. :)

I'm a Flock user myself, but I did notice that the Safari 4.0 'seems' to run faster than the old one. Next on my wishlist: improved Safari on the iPhone. Oftentimes, I lose my 'previous page' button when I open a new window.

I'm guessing this update will fix all the bugs from the beta version. I really like the new features.

is there a way to change the shortcuts in safari? The only reason why I'm still using firefox is that tab navigation is way much easier for me in firefox than in safari. I wanted to use command + number to navigate through my open tabs sana

Trying out Safari 4 now. Main thing I notice is that the tabs now look very much like the tabs of Firefox but somehow less informative. No website icon in the tab. Looks dead. Not like the previous version, very colorful.

also, they moved the refresh page button to all the way on the other side of the address input section. very disconcerting.

What's the version number of Safari 4 for Leopard?

I only use Safari if I need fast loading. Tried to update but since I'm still in 10.5.6, it's a no go (requires 10.5.7)

I still like the address bar/progress bar style of safari 3. It feels more informative than safari 4's twirling animation.
