Anyone watching Rock of Ages? It's being produced by Atlantis Productions and will be shown at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza.

saw it last night. musical arrangement was very good.

while very entertaining, you can however tell that the leads weren't necessarily seasoned stage actors. it figures since the vocal chops required for the lead roles are particularly demanding. and they've got it. i dare say that singing-wise, the local production is better than the cast on the youtube videos.

until i saw the programme after the show, i didn't know that the narrator was jett pangan. he was good.

you can buy your tickets at ticketworld (i.e. national book store / robinson's).

Buying from direct showbuyers will save you a few pesos as compared to getting it from ticketworld. The July 1 happens to be my friend's show date. Posted about it here.

The show was very enjoyable. I haven't seen the movie but I bet Migs Ayesa is a much more credible Stacee Jaxx than Tom Cruise. I got surprised how old Jamie Wilson and Calvin Millado look now. Jett Pangan was funny and excellent but I didn't appreciate his bulging belly :)

    just came across this thread.

if anybody is still looking for tickets for the july 1 show i think only the 3pm matinee has tickets because the 8pm show was apparently sold out already AFAIK.

im friends and neighbors with one of the actors in the play. Please PM me your contact number so i can get in touch with you.

i will try my best to hook you up with tickets, depending on the availability of course.

Mig Ayesa is excellent and he's being doing Stacee Jaxx for a while, but Tom Cruise KILLED in the movie. One of his best performances ever. Suggest you check it out.

Also, in case you don't know, the story of the movie and the play are very different. Catherine Zeta Jones' character for example, is not in the play. Aiza Seguerra's character is not in the movie. Worth catching both.

Saw this earlier and all I can say is Jett Pangan's mullet carried the show. I don't think it would be as enjoyable without it.

Saw this too yesterday!!! It was awesome!!! Yes especially if your familiar with the songs (80s Hair Metal era hahaha). Sad to say i think today is the last day of their run. Yes Jett Pangan brought the house down with his acting his bulging belly and mullet is a plus plus for the character and Aiza was really good too (May surprise pa sya hahaha). Actually all the actors to the band were excellent (at least for me). This is a must see play if you can. Kaya tara na bago mahuli ang lahat!!! :) me? im going to see the movie version...
