If you have the perseverance to learn software development you sure can switch career to iOS app development. It is easier to learn vs other languages - your references are maintained by Apple, WWDC videos and sample codes are hosted by Apple, the best IDE is made by Apple (Xcode). It's a one-stop shop really. What may be a hindrance is the confusion of development style. Don't try to watch YouTube tutorials - not that it lacks sensible content but there's just too many any green thumb can be overwhelmed. Try learning from books - BigNerdRanch books, Erica Satun, and tutorials from Raywenderlich
thanks for sharing this site, been long time wanting to learn also how to code for ios app. I'm zero in programming also and wanting to learn slowly.
I may have missed a few information but are you planning on developing native apps especially for iOS?
