Both me and my wife just switched to the world of MACS. Everything is great, except for a songbook my wife is working on for a few months now does not want to open in her new Mac with MS Office.

It is a .doc file created in her old PC. When she tries to open it using the MAC, an error message appears saying that the file could not be opened cause frames is not supported.

Any way she can open that file in a MAC?

sorry, just realised you mentioned Office for Mac....

if she used a LATER version of Word in her old PC, then and older version of Word in the new Mac won't open it.

Try opening the file again on MS Office for Windows then save it as an older version of a Word document file or an rtf file format. Then try to open it in Office for Mac again.

Renaming the file name by adding a .doc extension...that's the trick i use to fix files on my ibook that won't open. :) good luck!

if there's no formatting to be kept... try saving it as a text file (*.txt) and open using MS Word.. this might also help...

TextEdit can read .doc files as well with limited formatting support.
