Hey folks. I'm trying to play videos that are encoded in the proprietary formats of RealPlayer. To my surprise VLC will not play them. Anyone know of a downloadable Codec that'll allow them to be played in either QT or VLC?

I'll download & use RealPlayer if I have to, but does anyone know of an alternative to this. VLC is my primary (non-iTunes) media player, with QuickTime as distant 2nd. I'd rather avoid the need for installing Real just to avoid having such a single use application.

@pandaboy: Slight correction then to my situation. The files WILL play on VLC. However, as I mentioned, these are video files. When VLC does play it, it only plays the audio. The video isn't displayed. And these are definitely video files that I have.

VLC should be worked.Maybe you need to convert the videos to MOV by QuicTime.

BTW, if your file fails to convert, try renaming the .rm to .rmvb, and run it again. it should be fine.
