Keep the files if you choose upgrade. Delete if you choose clean install.

Snow Leopard by default keeps your data and apps. Some apps may not work with Snow Leopard. But it will prompt you to install Rosetta so that they can run. The only way for your data and apps to be deleted is if you manually erase/format your hard disk.

apps will be retained like your files if you do the upgrade. If you are going to do a clean install, then your apps will have to be reinstalled also take note that if you backup via timemachine, use the same username so you won't have a weird view of your backups.

The only files that will 'technically' be deleted if you upgrade are those from apps that'll be trimmed down in Snow Leopard (e.g. Mail, iChat, Dashboard, etc.) so you actually get some extra space after the installlation.

I just did an upgrade, not a clean install, and mine worked perfectly with no problem whatsoever! My mail, safari, and all other apps and settings were fine with no hiccups. I just updated some 3rd party apps like smartsleep, flip4mac, little snitch and some others to their SL updates and i'm doing pretty well. Updated as if nothing really happened, plus I saved about 14gigs of memory!

I just did an upgrade using Remote Install.

Everything was flawless, my files were not been touched, even moved. And also, my apps which needs an update will be notified by SL, so no worries sa pag upgrade.

Nagbago lang ung opening wallpaper ko which is usually found in logging in.
