Quark lover here from the moment i used this workflow. from 4.0 - 4.1 - 4.0.4 passport ed - 5.0.1 - 6.1 passport ed and soon 6.5 and still keeping all these copies... sweet
Well, Quark is nice actually. I used it for a while when I was freelancing in San Diego. When I got back here in the Philippines, I learned that Quark wasn't that popular since only a few service bureaus support it. I was forced to use Pagemaker although we all know how inadequate Pagemaker is. Then came InDesign, the so-called "Quark Killer." Since then I never looked back. Quark got stuck with version 6.1. OS X came and they were slow in responding. InDesign was way ahead of the race coming out with their 2nd version before Quark decided to support OS X. Now that InDesign is on its CS version, I don't think Quark will recover. Plus again, not much support on the service bureau side. My :2cents: ~hacksaw [Edited on 11-5-2004 by hacksaw]
Q=3 In=10 I use both software, but after working with quark for the past 12 years, I have to choose InDesign. I still work with both softwares, but the percentage is 75% InDesign; and 25% Quark. InDesign is 100x better than Quark.
Q=4 In=10 Interestingly enough here in Australia majority of the service bereaus still prefer Quark. But all rather send everything to them using PDF files I find Quark easier to work with (Faster) than Indesign (Resource hungry)
