Speaking of battery replacements, I have an old iPhone 4s that's still working but needs a battery replacement. I've inquired with a local authorized service center, but they said they no longer service it as it is already obsolete. Any idea or recommendation where I can get an original battery for this and have it dun by a reputable tech service center?

Since it's obsolete, any apple authorized service center won't be able to procure original batteries for 4s. Apple doesn't make those parts anymore. I'd suggest you take a look at greenhills service shops, they might have unsold stocks lying around.

I suggest avoiding looking at the battery health.....It's just another thing that can make you worry....Just enjoy your phone and use it normally....Once you actually start to see battery performance issues, that's the time you need to have your battery replaced....I'm an adroid user and since I have OCD, I constantly checked my battery app for the battery health....Doing that just added an unnecessary stress in my life so I decided to uninstall it......

My wife's iphone is at 95% health after around 10 months of use and she doesn't even notice any differences....

Got my iPhone 6s Plus serviced at Switch Glorietta 2. Awesome staff, only took them 2 days to have my battery replaced. 1500php total cost (700php diagnostic fee + 800 battery cost). I highly recommend this service center.

Avoid PMC in Glorietta 5. Gave them a chance but never again!

Wasted 2 hours waiting in line just to tell me that their system is "downgraded" (lol. I think she meant it's down) and may took them 2-3 days for the diagnostics. Should have gone straight to Switch.

Hi, may I ask, what’s the cause for the display replacement program. Is this an issue with the X? (I am an X user and i don’t see any issue with the display)

    Thanks!

Early iPhone X Models exhibits touchscreen freezing (can't swipe up to go home). The display replacement program is free for eligible iPhone X that exhibits those problems. The only way to know is to bring it in. I've experienced it several times in the past and even without recreating the problem, the Apple Store Genius forged ahead with authorizing the screen replacement (even out of warranty).

So it is somewhat true that throttling the performance of older iPhones made people upgrade their phone thus helping Apple sell newer models. Makes you wonder if the main reason of the throttling is really about preserving the battery.

This is not true. It was not to preserve battery, it was to ensure a better user experience -- a slow iPhone vs an iPhone that crashes due to power (battery) unavailability (for apps that require the processor to ramp up). There was no intention to force users to upgrade, otherwise, they could have made iOS 12 only available for iPhone 7 and up -- no need to throttle.

If you look at it from one perspective it may look like apple indeed does this to promote sales of newer iPhones, but if you look at it from another perspective they may do this to preserve battery life, same reason why they don't include a fast charger for their iPhones and don't heavily advertise fast charging.

Either way I don't care, I just hope that apple adjusts their prices for battery replacements.

    Too bad I missed this.

We have an iPhone SE, acquired mid-2016, that would have benefited from this. This used to be my mom's phone however, since upgrading this has been the default secondary phone for out of the country trips or whenever we have relatives coming over from abroad. Battery is still decent since she was not a heavy user but I'm guessing it would need a replacement soon.

Do you know going rates now?

EDIT: BTB replied to my query--- "Battery price for SE is around 2,000 on top of the 1,300 diagnostic and labor fee."
