Most games come out multi platform anyway, so it depends what console-exclusive game series you prefer

Xbox360 = Gears of War, Halo, Mass Effect, Forza, Superior Kinect Games

PS3 = Resistance, Metal Gear, Uncharted, Demon Souls, Gran Turismo, Little Big Planet

Xbox 360 has the edge on sports and action/shooters (GoW, Halo) . PS3 has the edge on RPGs, adventure/action (Uncharted and MGS)

AH, those are the legacy Metal Gear games that originally came out for the PS1 and PSP

I was referring to the Next Gen versions, MGS4 and up.

    Cheers!

If MGS4 will be released on the 360, it should have been released by now. :)

I have both. Plus Wii. PS3 gets 90% of the action.

Is it not too late to buy a PS3 at this point in time?

I dont think so. Sony is concentrating on the PSP Vita launch, and ive heard no rumors of a PS4 on the horizon. I think it has a shelf life of another 2-3 years. I think the bigger problem is if itll conk out before the next gen console comes out:p

    It's never too late.

There are tons of old games to play. And pretty much dirt cheap nowadays.

So it looks like you pay an extra 3000 for the warranty, hmmm. (13K at Datablitz vs 16K at Sony).

Is Sony the only place to get service on the PS3 or can you get things fixed at Greenhills?

Anyone with bad experiences on a PS3 breaking down?

Personally I have none. My 40GB Gun Metal is still kicking. But I've been using my slim more.

Though I've read many stories of the Phat PS3 having YLOD issues.

    But for Slim, almost none.

So Slim is the best way to go.

I agree. but I guess one tip would be know the platform that your friends are playing with -- in that way, you would have more fun with your console (online play, swapping of game discs, 4 player ps3/xbox parties). parang DSLR lang yan, hiraman ng lente.

    Have both.

PS3 is good because it has free online and its a good media player. For me, their best exclusive is Uncharted. XBOX 360 is good because of their exclusives Halo and Gears of War. XBOX 360 Kinect is also pretty good! Looking to buy a Kinect for the family this Christmas.

IMHO sometimes developers pick the XBOX 360 for as their development platform perhaps due to MS tools and technically its a the least common denominator and some games end up more optimized there. I don't intend to start a flame war since stuff like this get heated...just my opinion. But most of the time games look the same on both platforms and practically everything is going multi platform.

Price wise, you can get an XBOX 360 cheaper than a PS3 but make sure to get those sturdy Jasper units.

I have both consoles. PS3 for free online gaming, Xbox 360 for sports games (much better visuals). Either way, you can't go wrong with any of the two.
