Ok, this is getting frustrating. I know that Apple Mail is not fully IMAP compliant, but I have the account settings for my imap mail to keep copies of all mail for offline viewing.. but omit the attachments.

My problem is that no matter what I do, it keeps copy of everything.. including the attachments. This causes problems because it takes up a lot of space when I do need to keep the attachments, but I don't need to keep it for offline purposes, which in the rare occasion I do, I can always save it to a local folder.

I would hate to have to switch to an alternative reader like Thunderbird because it lacks the integration that Apple Mail does.
