i tried everything, read the threads here, contacted my isp etc.

    i use pldt dsl.

I registered a domain and had it hosted, it has cpanel x

I used its default auto configure imap file, then i did it manually

then customer service told me to use pop, which i did and used every combination i could do.

still i cant send out. i can receive it with no problems. just the outgoing part

i saw the thread here, and tried using other outgoing servers. but still no luck

maybe someone here has had this experience and fixed it, so please help me :)

thank you and happy new year!

I had the same problem once and we used infocom as our email host but it got solved when apple updated mail which allowed use any of the outgoing ports. May we know which mail server are you using?

When you say that you cannot send outgoing mail, I am assuming that you are referring to the email accounts for your hosted domain and not your PLDT DSL email account.

From my experience, the common problem I usually have with outgoing mail is the SMTP port and the authentication method for the SMTP server. If you are using an authentication method for outgoing mail (usually password authentication), check if you need to have SSL enabled/disabled or if the username needs to include the domain name of your host.

By the way, is Mail.app displaying any error message with regard to why it can't send out mail?

i've heard that NTC blocked port 25 in sending emails. you have to use SSL

yeah the problem was ssl mostly and about authentication i think

    i resolved it.

i restarted mail, deleted the account and server, created a new one, at the smtp screen, check the authenticate box and dont use any username and password.

then go to server list and go to advanced, pick password from the list box and enter details there. it worked. i did that before but didnt but im not complaining coz its working now :)

    thanks guys! happy new year
