I downloaded a couple of album covers from amazon.com (they are all jpegs). I wanted to attach them to the song info for some of the songs on my playlist. So I control click on the song to get the Get Info dialog, then I click Artwork, then I drag the jpeg into the space. Then I click OK. Weird thing is, it works for some songs, but for other songs, right after I click OK, it kinda looks like iTunes accepted it but when I get back to the song, the album cover is totally not there. But the problem is not happening with some songs. I tried the same thing with iTunes on win xp and it worked for all the songs, meaning, no problems. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Try this. Make sure the title bar above the album artwork pane of iTunes reads 'Selected Song' and not 'Now Playing' and just drag the image to the pane. You can also assign album art to multiple songs (highlighted of course) this way.
you're welcome. OS X has a lot of surprises and I always learn something new everyday from mags and forums. keyboard shortcuts and entourage features are personal favorites, so i hope to dig up some more from this forum's archives.. OT: got an OS X tip? post naman! under another topic of course.
i successfully dragged and dropped artworks to some of my songs in iTunes. the problem now is i don't know how to copy or drag the album art from one song to another in my playlist. of course i can check amazon again and do the 'highlight all songs' then drag the artwork but is there an easier way where i dont need to connect to the net again?
Click-drag the album artwork from the iTunes pane to your desktop. The resulting file on your desktop will have a .pictClipping extension that you can drag to other songs in iTunes.
Thanks for the tips. I made sure that the title bar read "Selected Song" and I tried dragging the artwork from amazon.com. It did appear while I still had the song selected. I then selected another song, and when I clicked back on the song, the artwork again disappeared. This is kinda strange since I had no problems with some songs, and this problem did not happen on iTunes for win xp. any other ideas?
did you already have existing artwork for that song? if you did, then it will display the "old" artwork. you can check this by selecting the song, then get info, click on artwork, then delete the other artwork. what i have noticed is that it's always the leftmost artwork that gets displayed.
Hi butcher, Just right click the album art of the song and a window with a copy option will appear. Click on copy, select the remaining songs, right-click on the album art and a paste option will appear. Click on paste and you're good to go After searching for the album art of 8000+ songs, i discovered that technique.
You can add one album art to an entire album in one go. In the iTunes library, select (highlight) all the songs that you want to add art to (shift+click or apple+click). You can also use the search field to filter the list into that specific album's songs only. that would make it easier. But you still need to highlight them all (apple+a). Right click (control+click for you one-buttoners) on the highlighted songs and select Get Info (or simply apple+i). Drag and drop the album art (I suggest from Amazon) from the browser directly into the 'Artwork' field. Click Ok. The one image will be embedded in all the songs you selected. It's that easy. thanks for the tips guys! will go to the nearest SBC here in Manila and download all artworks for my 3000+ songs! how many AA prepaid cards will i consume this time? last time i got home after buying 4 cards! hehe.. this is really ADDICTING!
tried FetchArt already but it didnt match my OPM songs and some of my singles (Maxwell: 'Til the Cops are Coming, Wet Wet Wet: Cold Cold Heart, M People, EBTG, etc) but its a big help! thanks!
I think I may have isolated the cause of my problem, but still don't have a solution. I have two desktops, one is on win xp, and this one is os 10.3.4. There are times when I rip a CD on my win xp, burn it on a disc, and then transfer the MP3s on my mac. And there are times when I look for songs on Limewire right on my Mac. I have noticed that I have had no problems putting the artwork on the songs I downloaded from Limewire straight into the Mac. But the songs that came from my win xp are the ones that can't get the artwork. it's strange because on win xp, it is able to retain the artwork whether or not the mp3 file came from win xp or from my mac (the mac and xp are networked via LAN so they share files). i'm getting a headache.
here's my steps on attaching artworks on itunes. 1. scan the album cover or download it on amazon then resize it to minimum using ACDsee 2. copy the edited artwork 3. go to itunes, highlight all the album songs, then right click- click get info, paste the artwork on the artwork box.
