    Welcome to PhilMUG!

You seem to be very knowledgable about this so-called Shamir lens; in fact, all your first 4 posts are in this (previously inactive) thread promoting Shamir and dissing Essilor. Are you in any way connected to Vision Express or Shamir lenses?

Welcome again and we look forward to your other posts, hopefully Apple or Mac-related. Cheers!

Better bring it to optical shops, I think the solutions that's for automotive use might alter the grade of our prescription glasses.

Anyone who can share the present (2021) prices of prescription lenses.

Bought a new pair of sunglasses and I need to have the lenses replaced

Owndays’ progressive lenses are pwede na. For the price, the lens is much better than EO’s. I think it’s +5-7k the frame price.

I paid around 9K for Transitions Gen 8 Airwear polycarbonate single-vision lenses. I was told its around 6K of the non-Airwear version.

Is PhP 8K "reasonable" for progressive lenses? (I have my own frame)

I'd say it's very affordable. But in my experience, the lower-priced ones have a very narrow viewing area and takes time getting used to.

yeah, its the cheapest option available from Owndays (it will also be my first time using "progressive")
just wanted to check if other shops can offer a cheaper option.

Just about to order a new pair, look up Juantipara on Facebook. Handmade, crafted in wood. Excited to try it out!

Reminds me of a near mishap that happened to me some years ago:

I was so engrossed reading a lot of stuff at work when I realized that I was already late picking up my son from school.

I rushed to pick him up only to realize half-way there that I was wearing my reading glasses and not my usual specs which I left at the office!

Good thing the school was just nearby, but I had to squint and drive carefully, very, very carefully.

That incident convinced me to go for progressive lenses for good. It took around two weeks for me to get used to the progressive lenses.

There is a period of adjustment. I've been wearing progressive lenses since 2017. It took some getting used to, about a week for me. I'd advise you to give it a chance. For me, the long term convenience outweighs the initial difficulty. No more switiching between reading glasses and long distance glasses.

My head now naturally tilts up or down depending on the situation for my eyes to get the clearest view, I'm not even aware I'm doing it anymore.
