just this morning, while browsing the net my powerbook the screen went black and when i tried to turn it on, it won't :( i can't even hear the harddrive. i am not sure if this is an lcd problem or the laptop itself.

i've had this powerbook since 2005. thanks! anyone experienced the same thing before?

i hope its not the logic board... coz if it is, then probably you'll have to get a new one. kinda similar to what happened on my beloved ibook.

Bring it to Ynzal. It might just be the lcd inverter. They can reset that. But only if you can hear the Mac boot. If it doesn't boot then it's a different problem. Whatever the problem, you have to bring it to a shop.

is your battery still good? do you see your charger have power? connector tip should light up when you plug it into your powerbook. if no light, either you have a busted charger or dc-in board.

if you're sure the ac adapter is working then remove the battery, plug the ac adapter then turn it on. press the caps lock key, if it lights up then it turning on but no lcd display.

Amazing, that exact same thing happened to my macbook yesterday. I brought it to iStudio, they took it in. They'll tell me next week what's wrong with it. :(
