Pics to Toons

    Hi! Noob here...

    What apps can one use to convert pics into cartoons? Would appreciate suggestions... ;)

    i think you can use Photoshop for this purpose.. ComicLife also has filters to make photos look like those in comic books..

    How do you do it on Comiclife? I've been checking it out but, I haven't seen anyway to toon the pics.

    you put the image in the page, then select it, click on the Details tab, then click on the Filters pop-up menu, then just select the filter you want to apply..

    you can also try converting raster pics to vector, eg Illustrator has filters. : )

    Hey, thanks michaelkenji! I found the ComicLife filters...

    How about something like these? Is there a software used to do these?

    These were done by Nitrozac from the Joy of Tech... Can these be done through Photoshop CS3?

    check out Cartoon Action and Comix Actions (with samples).. maybe you can tweak the settings to get the results you want..

    i'm also looking for a way to make pictures become cartoons. I'm experimenting with photoshop. I found a site that suggest a way. Although it is not as good as vicoyski's pictures, maybe this article could help you. Maybe I'll base my work with this article. Hopefully I can make a good toony pic.

    Sorry, instead of editing previous post, I'd like to be more specific by adding:

    Adobe Illustrator (CS2, though) has Live Trace function if it is that kind of effect you wish to achieve. Check out Adobe site : )
