I'm planning to create a high def logo for a website. Do you know any alternative of photoshop for mac because it's too expense? Will iPhoto suffice?

I'm a happy user of GIMP, although I haven't tried it on Yosemite :)

    Options:

    1. You can make a hi-def logo even with Keynote. Depends on what you want to do. And it's free.
    2. Pixelmator is a good alternative that's cheaper.
    3. Photoshop is actually cheap now. I got the Photographer's bundle, about P350/month inclusive with Lightroom.

Ok I'll assess if buying a 350/month will be better. I'm also looking into Pixelmator, many are saying that it is a good alternative. Thanks! :)

For logo? U might need a vector software not a rastor application. Creating a logo supposed to be made by a Vector, and you need a vector application like CorelDraw or Ai for that. If you want to use a free app, you can just use Inkscape which you can download easily.
If it's really necessary to use a Rastor graphics for your Logo creation. Try Affinity Photo for professional graphic editing alternative to photoshop. Though it's not free, but it's cheaper option from PS Adobe. Best graphic option for Photoshop.

Try these. I use both of these softwares and they are great (and friendlier) adobe alternatives.

    Sketch: https://www.sketchapp.com/

    Affinity Designer: https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/designer/

But if you just need to create a logo and can do it within 30 days, use the trial of either PS/AI, Affinity, Sketch. Or, well, hire a freelance graphic designer. ;)

pixelmator is great and its free i think. abduzeedo has a section for pixelmator tutorials, just not sure if he's still updating it though.
