I am pleased to report that the Spark can handle 18-knot (33+kph) winds!

    Happy New Year! :)

Haha. Hindi naman. It just looks murky because, at low tide, that's mostly land with sea grass.

It's a good place to learn kite surfing, during amihan, because it is mostly waist-deep; you can wipe out then just stand on sea grass—or sea urchins! :)

Hi folks. Noob questions. I am planning to buy my first drone / quadcopter. Looking at the Spark or the Mavic Pro. Just a few questions:
Are the gesture controls really that useful for the Spark?
As per checking the Mavic Pro shoots better videos at 40K@30fps and has 3-Axis Mechanical Gimbals. - Will this contribute to a better steadier video. TIA.

Usefulness varies with usage context. I don't do much selfies, so I use gesture control less. Besides, I bought the combo, which comes with the remote—easier and more powerful way to control the drone.

The additional axis (pan) is the least important of the axes; tilt and roll are more important. Unless you're a pro, I can't think of many cases where the extra axis will benefit.

The biggest factor for me, as a curious consumer (not professional videographer), is size. I travel often, and the Mavic's size is a non-starter for me. I have taken short trips with just a handcarry and my Spark. The Mavic would be an entire handcarry. Yeah, it shoots 4K (not the 40K you mentioned), but who the heck watches 4K videos on FB or YouTube? Not me, even if I have a 100Mbps Fibr plan.

    It's Mavic "Pro" for a reason. :)

    Like the Spark... It's tempting!
Bit still no 4K@60fps... (Only 4K@24/30fps)

The Flymore version is at $1169. $10 more than the Mavic Pro Platinum standard package. The good news is that the controller is already included in the standard package (USD 939) unlike the Spark. Curious to see how big or small this is compared to the Mavic Pro. Anyone buying this? It's already available in DJI's online store.

there's already a lot of review and hands-on videos in youtube. :) the mavic air has a foldable design unlike the spark, and when folded, it's practically no bigger than the spark.
