I saw an app (or maybe a plugin) that adds the US Holidays for Calendar over @ the Apple site. Can anyone do this so we have our own holidays too? I think it'll be pretty useful.
Hi, You may find these threads helpful: http://www.philmug.ph/forum/showthread.php?t=25010&highlight=ical+philippine+holidays http://www.philmug.ph/forum/showthread.php?t=30584&highlight=ical+philippine+holidays
I wouldn't count on it. With the way Malacanang changes the dates of Philippine holidays, I don't think any programmer would make an iCal app about it.
I subscribed to the Philippine Holidays for iCal on the Apple Website, but some of the dates are off by as much as a week. Plus, I agree with aragorn_109, unlike other countries where the National Holiday calendar is more or less permanent, Malacanang has a bad habit of declaring holidays as near as only a few days prior to the actual holiday. Annoying at best.
Well, in that case, can someone presumably a Philmugger create an iCal PH holidays calendar and update it whenever needed? I don't think it takes a lot of time and resources and t sure would be very helpful. I'd do it if I know how.
My question should be 'does anyone know how to make an .ics file?' Argh. I wasn't able to check if the question was properly typed. Sorry for the confusion.
@Ejaxene: In iCal, just create a calendar under "File" and enter the dates you want on it. OR choose a calendar that you already have existing. Under "File" choose "Export". Specify a located to save it in and you'll have an .ics file of that particular calendar.
