I'm very careful whenever I'm connected to the web. I've taken the advice from other mac fora (non-pinoy) of installing PeerGuardian. After all, they say, it wouldn't hurt. But I really don't know. I don't even know how effective it is. I see notifications from Growl once in a while saying it's blocking something. Can philmuggers share their experience with the software? Does it work for you?

I occasionally use peerguardian, but I really don't know how effective it is. I think it is only effective if the blocklist that's being supplied is updated. If it blocks something then it works right?

Have you noticed that when you open a site which you think might be harmless, you find peerguardian blocking something, like adware? Does that mean that without peerguardian, adware still gets through to the mac? Thanks for the reply.
