I'm a newbie here and i'm wond'ring if there's anybody who knows how to make LIMEWIRE/XFactor or other P2P applications work on a machintosh?

I've downloaded LIMEWIRE&XFactor but both both won't work and i'm having headaches figuring out what's wrong. I'm asuming maybe because i'm connected to a network and probably our admin disabled any P2P or whatever the thing is i don't know what administrators do down there to make our live miserable up here surfing the net!

    So pleeeaaase HELP! thanks

    hey there!

what machine are you using and what os are you using? maybe the version of (limewire/xfactor) is not compatible to your os, or maybe you downloaded the version for "pee-cee"

try to download it from version tracker or mac update to make sure that it's mac compatible, hope this helps:beer:

Could be your network's firewall. Try asking the network admin to open up ports 6346 (Limewire/Gnutella) and 1214 (Kazaa/FastTrack).

Thanks Pengski well i'd say you're probably right it could be the proxy! but i still would love to know how to figure it out! Ü

Wicket thanks for your reply, anyway i've downloaded LIMEWIRE for Mac and yes its from version tracker.Ü

Henjie that's an excellent idea, honestly i know nothing about ports and i guess our admin won't allow enabling it coz he's a buttkicker (you know what i mean!) Ü do you know any other way i can get through with this? it would mean a lot! Thanks!Ü
