Problem: When you choose itunes artwork as your screensaver, by default the screen shows something like 6 by 6 squares of whatever pics (artwork) you have on your itunes folder. When we switched (via preferences of that particular screensaver) it to 2 by 2 suqares instead the system preference went bonkers. 1st, whenever you click on system Preferences you get error messages and after several attempts to try to open it you can get in. However, you cannot change the type of screensaver anymore. What to do? Thanks in advance gurus =D
Wow. Good bug catch. So here's what I did to fix it. Open the panel - it will crash, as you said. Choose "Reopen" when the crash dialog comes up. When the preference panel opens up, go to screen saver panel again, and it should crash again. This time the crash dialog will have an option of "Try Again." When you go to the panel this time, the screen saver should be reset to flurry. When you close the pref panel, you will be prompted to keep the new settings or revert to the old ones, you want to keep the new settings. Ignore the above; it will let you get into the pref panel without crashing, unfortunately, the settings don't stick, and you're faced with the same problem all over again. Here's the real solution: Go to your User Library folder. Go to Preferences. Go to By Host. Locate the plist file called "com.apple.screensaver.iTunesArtwork.XXXXXXXX" (the X's will be some random number) and delete it. Everything should be okay.
