TL;DR // Help. The courier is delivering me batteries instead of my Apple gadget orders. I ordered an iPad with Apple Pencil from the online store for my online classes and I was surprised that the receipt I received were addressed from Singapore. My mom warned me about scam and such especially products from Singapore cos her friend had experience (idk if it's with Apple tho). I know though that Apple SG is what handles online orders within South East Asia so I didn't really listen to my mom's worries. She paid for it, of course she'll worry. LOL. But today, I received a call saying my package already arrived. I was a bit surprised cos I was tracking my order when I received the call and it said that my items were still in Manila. I'm in Mindanao. And that it was going to arrive Oct 6, today is Sept 24. Why is the courier calling me already? Maybe it arrived early? When I finally met with the delivery person, the package that they showed me was nothing like what I was expecting. The box was small, could never fit an iPad. But since I ordered two (2) items, I believe they are going to be shipped separately. Am I right? The size of the box could totally fit an Apple Pencil but the declaration in the shipping details says that the contents of said package is "P1967 Lithium ion batteries in compliance with Section II". I was so confused. I didn't order batteries from Apple. Wtf? So I didn't sign to receive it. Even if it could be my Apple Pencil. 'Cos once I sign, I'm scared that I might not be able to get my actual items should it be a scam. The real package will say on the declaration that it's an Apple Pencil, right? Not what kind of battery it runs on? (i dont even know if apple pencil runs on that type of batt but whatever) Plus the box had no Apple logos. Just plain brown box in a transparent plastic pouch. It had all my details: correct name, address and phone number, except the item is wrong. I think I am getting scammed T_T not by Apple but along the way in the delivery process T_T what should I do? T_T I've been trying to call Apple's customer service but since I have no landline and the number is 1800, my phonecall says I am dialing an incorrect number T_T I looked through Apple's terms and services regarding this and it said that, should there be problems in delivery, Apple will be in direct contact with the courier. Problem is, how am I gonna prompt Apple that there is a problem if I can't even call them? this system is so anti-poor ( I'm thinking Apple will be prompted anyway since I rejected the package that was delivered to me today? Should I just wait? I really don't like being passive when it comes to matters like these but idk what else to do T_T help me please T_T what other means have I not explored?
^I suggest you borrow a friend's landline to call them. or try using their Chat option https://contactretail.apple.com/Help
thank you. i will try looking for friends who have landline. those arent very popular here really also, the link you gave me didn't lead to chat option. this is what it said on the page when i clicked
Hi. I recently purchased through separate orders a mac mini, an ipad pro and a pair of ipads - all from the Apple online store. They all arrived in a clear plastic bag, inside an unmarked brown box, with no labels only the shipping address and the battery shipping info. Brown box acts as protection for the actual Apple box. Delivery dates vary, some a week in advance, others on the promised day itself. Orders were not consolidated. Hope that helps.
Yes - orders are not consolidated - they ship whatever is available first. I had a duplicate order - my fault, but when I called them - apple helped me sort out - no questions asked. Hope you are able to resolve things
See https://www.dhlexpress.nl/sites/default/files/lithium_ion_batteries_regulations.pdf, specifically the row "'Description of content' statement as per IATA DGR". In my recent transactions with DHL, the content description primarily doesn't say the actual item, but rather how they are packaged... devices with lithium batteries especially since they are considered dangerous goods, so they sometimes explicitly declare the Packing Instruction (PI) number instead. I sent a pair of headsets for RMA, and the description they entered was exactly the same as yours - PI 967 section II. Bottom line - I think the one arrived to you was your Apple Pencil. DHL's just following IATA rules.
Same here. I do know that they ship items depending on stock so it could arrive separately - even if you ordered several items at the same time. As for the battery, maybe you're talking about the battery sticker on the plain brown box? The one with black and some red print? All items I ordered from Apple SG/PH came with this sticker on the box. As for DHL, their tracking isn't so accurate. If I remember correctly, the tracking of my Apple watch which arrived last December didn't help me one bit. For reference, my Apple Watch was scheduled for delivery last Jan 18, 20201 but arrived December 26, 2020. As mentioned above, I think or rather I'm pretty sure the one that arrived at your doorstep was the Apple Pencil.
I don't know how to edit the post but I called DHL on the night that I posted this and they said, just like the replies here (thank you all very much), that items containing batteries would most likely declare the batteries instead of the actual description of the items for safety in transporting it. So I had the item that I rejected redelivered and yesterday, both the ipad and pencil arrived and they're all good and correct. In short, I was just paranoid XD i'm so embarrassed but i'm thankful to everyone who replied and helped me. Thank you! (in my defense, my mom said that her friend once experienced receiving a package from singapore and instead of the actual items, she received stones. so yeah XD)
