i have iphoto 06 and when i plug my camera in to my powerbook there are some photos that are not imported into my iphoto library. ex. i have 71 items to be imported (2 movies and 69 photos) only 67 photos are imported, the 2 missing photos and the 2 movies are no where to be found in my iphoto library. i have the habit of checking the option where it says delete photos after importing. there was an instance that the photos that were not imported into my library were not deleted in my camera. but i cant help but think that i might have lost some photos already because it might not have been imported into my library and it got deleted. what could be the problem here? i have a casio exilim EX-Z70
I remember this happening to me before with my Panasonic Lumix. I found the "missing" movies in the SD card and had to drag them manually to iPhoto via Finder. Have you checked if there are any leftover photos and movies still on the camera's memory card? It's been several months since the last time it happened to me though.
This just happened to me earlier today. I was importing 115 images from my Nokia N73. 110 were images and 5 were movie clips. Everything downloaded except for 1 movie clip. I did the same thing Patrick did and manually transferred the last item. I did notice though, that the last movie clip was rather large- 98mb. Could the size of the file be the reason for not downloading? This was the first time I encountered such a problem so I'm just guessing here. Can anyone else provide an explanation?
is there a work around here? the OC person in me wants to have the library arranged in film rolls too. so if i let say import the 72 items and only 67 items are imported, when i manually drag the "missing items" to my library, it will not be in the same film roll as the first 67 items... the only possible way i see to make them all appear in a particular film roll is export all the pictures that i want included in one roll to a particular area in my HD and then drag drop them again in my library. of course you would have to delete the source of the pictures in iphoto so that you wont have any duplicate pictures... its a bit tedious, but i want my pictures organized that way... so if there is a SW tweak to make it just one step, pls post it here its good to know that i am not alone in this experience
Sorry, I don't know of a single-step way of doing what you want, I would've suggested the exact same process you thought of Did you find your missing photos and movies though?
luckily for me, i did not check the option to delete the pictures from the device after importing. i tried checking this option in one of my tries and i found out that the items that were not imported into my iphoto lib didn't get erased in my camera... so i guess it sort of safe for your pix i tried importing them again (the items that were not imported in the first try) and they got imported to the library eventually... but of course as a different roll i am now thinking that this is a bug in iphoto 06... is there a way to find out what the maximum number of photos you can actually import into iphoto in one loading? or maybe a maximum file size? makes you think really
oh well, its sad to know that all this time apple has not really come up with a solution. with iphoto 07 just around the corner. baka naman the big will be fixed in the next release... oh well bummer
i discovered way to combine rolls, so the pictures end up in the same roll: drag the roll you want to move over to the roll you want it in, make sure the new roll is hiughlighted...then release. voila, the rolls have now been combined! i just discovered this by accident while fixing my pictures today.
how come that when i import my pictures to iphoto, i can't see tsome of he images? When I look at the library, it's there/ But when I click some of the images, it comes out as an exclamation point with gray background. Please help. Thanks
