Guys, where can I get the best deal for a Wii, with a year's warranty plus games?
Also, what version is better, US or Japanese? should i have it modified?

Better check the cost of modification first. Also note that modified units usually void warranty. (If we have a Nintendo service center here in the first place. Do we??). Also does Nintendo (or other game consoles to that matter) have an international warranty?

It's better if you get the US version, even if it's a bit more expensive. You might brick your Wii if you play US games and updates on it. Plus the menu is in Japanese as well.

Any of you got the Wii Fit Japan version? I was planning on getting it for my US Wii - is there compatibility issues? For future games, the Wii Fit will work ok?

My wife and I just bought a Wii over the weekend (US version, unmodified) at NetTrekker Alabang Town Center for P16,000. Data Blitz ATC no longer had stock of the Wii Fit but I found it at Astrovision Festival Mall ... I think it was P8,000.

Games? Who needs games? My wife really loves Wii Fit!

I was supposed to get a wii fit jap for my US wii but I was told that I need the installer/update included in the US wii fit version. So I ended up buying the more expensive US wii fit :( I think if you can find a US cd installer to use for the jap wii fit then I don't see any problem. Just my opinion :)

There will be no compatibility issues insofar as pairing the balance board with your US Wii is concerned. However, the game disc will not play in your US Wii, unless, of course, it is modified.

Or if you get this. This will allow you yo play games from any region on your wii without mods. That is of course until Nintendo plans on breaking this with an update.

Nintendo has, in fact, already released an update that purposely prevents Wii users from making use of the Trucha exploit to bypass region locks and/or run homebrew. If you want to continue using Freeloader, you should not update your Wii's firmware to 3.3U. :)
