I am a fan of "cult" based films. Hoping it will exceed expectations. Apostle.
First look of Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck aka the Joker. The Martin Scorsese produced, Todd Philips helmed Crime film, Joker. Robert De Niro co stars. The movie takes place outside of DCEU continuity. In DC Comics parlance, Elseworlds.
Mary Poppins Returns. Just a spoonful of Emily Blunt makes the medicine go down.
Didn't want to start a separate thread for this...
Michael B. Jordan to Play Tom Clancy Character John Clark in New Film Series
"Paramount Pictures has tapped Michael B. Jordan to play Clancy hero John Clark in a new film series, Variety has learned.
Sources tell Variety that Paramount is developing two pics based on the Clancy books “Rainbow Six” and “Without Remorse,” both novels in which Clark is the main star. “Without Remorse” will be the first film of the two, serving as an origin story for the character."
Oh, man! I like Michael B. Jordan but I don't agree to him playing John Clark. Too much of a stretch. If the films are going to be based on the books, I'd like to see someone a bit more mature to play the character.
If they want play the diversity card here, this could be ideal for Idris Elba...
Bumblebee. I’m beginning to like this. Prime, Shockwave, Ravage, Starscream(?). All in their G1 form. More importantly, No more Michael Bay. From the director of Kubo and the Two Strings which in my opinion is an underappreciated film.
Kubo was his first ever directorial debut. With Bumbelebee, this is his first live action directorial debut. I am now interested.
I like that they still retained Peter Cullen as Prime's voice. Getting nostalgic. I hope they used Soundwave's voice from the G1 cartoon. That's Frank Welker who also voiced Megatron.
Finally, a Transformers reboot.... and in their near-original form.
Say what you want but I think Michael Bay's interpretation of the franchise is simply OTT to the point that it has cycled over back to being meh. It needs to be forgotten.
About the only thing Michael Bay's Transformers is useful to me (particularly, "Dark of the Moon"), is to check if my surround speakers are working.... and I'm only talking about the "Paramount" intro logo.... all 20 seconds of it.
Ahh for us growing up in the 80s, it was a joy to wartch the G1 Transformers in the Bumblebee trailer! Hope this does not suck & reboots the atrocity of the previous Transformers movies.
A bit OT. The week where Bumblebee will have it's opening (at least stateside) is pretty stacked. Just take a look at this lineup. :
Bumbleebee ( Dec. 20)
Aquaman (Dec 19)
Mary Poppins Returns ( Dec 19)
Alita Battle Angel ( Dec 21)
The week before:
Mortal Engines ( Dec 12)
Spider-Man: Into the Spider verse ( Dec 12)
Which one will you watch? I hope I can watch all of them.
Which also means they will all be quickly replaced by the MMFF entries in Manila cinemas. Better watch them quick and early! LOL!
If the time permits, maybe all. But I'll watch only if the reviews are good.
X-Men Dark Phoenix
Laugh out loud on this take of a classic by the zaniest duo in comedy today...
Second trailer for Aquaman. 2nd trailer is better than the 1st one. Optimism still intact.
Hmm. Not that I’m complaining but I hope they didn’t reveal too much. Remember BVS, they revealed practically everything on the 3rd or 4th trailer. The movie’s 3 1/2 months away. No more new trailers please.
Will be released in the Philippines on November 7, 2018. Opened with positive reviews in the U.S., I am so there opening day.
It's not 3 1/2 months away. Just a little over 2 months. Unless it was moved to January 2019. I think we're even going to get it earlier as Christmas week is historically exclusively set for the MMDA Film Festival.
I am expecting just one more trailer before the movie comes out. I hope there is no Doomsday reveal, although I'm fine with no more trailers honestly. Come to think of it, I did not see any Willem Dafoe (who plays Vulko) appearance in this trailer.
Pet Sematary. I haven't seen the original in ages. Kinda mixed about the trailer.
After Unbreakable, then Split, comes Glass...this is gonna be good!
