Hello everyone! I'm new here, was browsing the web about Macbooks and found this forum. Anyways, I'm about to buy my first laptop/notebook and I'm highly considering the 2.4 Aluminum Macbook. First off, I want one for the portability. I also edit photos, videos, do graphic/web designs, watch movies browse the net and the occasional PC gaming. Now to my questions: 1. Is the 2.4 capable of handling all these? 2. I use Adobe CS3 (mostly Photoshop, Flash, Premiere and After Effects), will they be able to run smoothly? Also considering upgrading to CS4. 3. I read that the MB does not have firewire and only have 2 USB ports, a bit of a let down compared to other notebooks but other than these, anything I should know? Sorry if I have too much questions, hope someone would reply here and lend a hand. Thanks.
If you can, try finding a brand new Early 2008 2.4 15" MBP. It should cost a bit less than the MB aluminum, and still be able to handle your needs. But if you're deadset on the aluminum MB/MBP, then go for the MBP, as the extra screen space will help you in your editing stuff.
