^He's Four in the Divergent series. Maybe would've preferred Tom Hiddleston.

There was a TV show called Golden Boy.. he became the youngest Police Commissioner of NYC. It lasted only one season but it was a nice show. Would have preferred Loki, the role he played in The Night Manager was awesome!

Might be true. I think Theo James is the guy that can bring in the young viewers into the 007 franchise, while us old fogeys reminisce about Sean, Roger, Pierce, and Daniel (sorry no Timothy).

My millennial daughters went crazy when they found out. Of course, they never really cared about Daniel Craig's Bond.

Maybe after a couple of movies and after a couple years, Bond can be played by an even more fitting actor by the name of Taron Egerton, last seen in Eddie the Eagle, and Kingsman: The Secret Service. He'll be ripe for the role by then....

Theo James could also be a cheaper and more malleable option (as in what the studio wants he'll do) as compared to the other 2 more established candidates.

Do you think the execs have the cojones to tell Luther or Loki that what they are doing is wrong? :D

everybody thought Daniel Craig was the end of Bond when he was cast as the new MI6 agent but he proved everybody wrong... hopefully the next bond will prove himself much better than the previous one

We're all growing old, folks, and because of attrition, the JB franchise won't last for too long unless they bring in a younger audience. We aren't the future of JB, let's face it — it's the millennials. In fact, I'd have wanted Taron Egerton in the role, instead of Theo James. Taron had the moves down pat in the Kingsman. He's 26 and a Brit too.

For all you know, after the 4 film contract they have with James, Taron will take over.

Theo James seems a bit young-looking for Commander Bond. Could this mean the producers will be jumping back in time again to a younger pre-007 James Bond?

Well, Theo James is now 31. Sean Connery first played 007 in "Dr. No" when he was 32. So, maybe the age difference doesn't matter. Like what Chito said, the studio is looking to latch on the movie-going millennials.

And how long can we stretch reality with a guy pushing 50 fighting bad guys and jumping off buildings and fast-moving objects?

This story is not true. Read the fine print.

Posted at the bottom of the "Portly Gazelle" site:

"Disclaimer: All stories on this site are satire and the opinions expressed do not belong to any real people. If persons appear in the picture they have nothing to do with the story."

Move along, folks. There is nothing to see here...

To the OP: No offense meant with this post. I myself was led to believe it was real, until I read their disclaimer.

^ Whew! That was a close one.

Was in a hospital waiting area yesterday with the TV forcing us to watch Insurgent, Divergent, Detergent or some teenage shit. Saw that guy as Four. Yeesh. His only semi redeeming act was when he shot Jai Courtney in the face.

Was so tempted to use the IR blaster in my phone to change the channel.

^ I think just keep this thread up. Daniel Craig is said to be definitely retiring, and they are on the hunt for a new Bond.

My vote still goes to Idris "Today we are cancelling the apocalypse!" Elba. :)

After watching the Kingsman, my vote also goes to Taron as the next James Bond.

Idris Elba Posts Cryptic References to Bond Amid Casting Rumors
    https://variety.com/2018/film/news/idris-elba-james-bond-rumors-1202902734/
This would have been great 10-15 years ago but at this stage Elba's in his mid 40s and Craig still has one Bond film left. Should DC reboot Superman, my personal pick would be Henry Cavill after watching The Man from Uncle and MI Fallout.
