Apple just introduced a new iPad Air.
^Looks all-most entirely like my iPad Air, minus the pencil...but really, for higher specs it’s still an iPad like before...
iPad XR! Me likey.
Bye quad speakers
Bye camera bump
Bye Pro Motion
It’s an iPad Pro 10.5 minus the better back camera and ProMotion Display.
I really can't understand what was Apple thinking to keep the old Pencil relevant...
iPad Pro uses the new Pencil, 2019 iPad Air and Mini uses the old Pencil, 10.5 Pro has been discontinued.
So If I buy an Air/MIni now with a Pencil, fell in love and decided to upgrade to a Pro, I have to buy a new Pencil again!
If I have an old Pro, and your Pencil is still ok (highly unlikely as battery should be almost gone by now) you need to buy the 2019 Air/Mini or iPad 2018 to keep using the same Pencil
Yeah. Why make your current release iPads only compatible with a previous gen accessory. As I’ve said in my previous post on the other thread, it doesn’t make sense. I’ve already sold my first gen Apple Pencil because it’s extremely bad compared to Apple Pencil 2.
The device is already available through Apple Store (PH) but there’s still no word on when will it come to APRs
Because the iPad Air 2019 and iPad mini 5 follow the old design that does not support wireless charging for Apple Pencil 2. There is no way to pair it with. I believe this is the only reason since when I check when you order extra tip of the pencil, they are both compatible to Apple Pencil 1 and 2.
Hmm. In that case they should have released iPad Mini that supports the current gen Apple Pencil instead of releasing an iPad Mini that's nearly identical to the previous gen. which was released nearly half a decade ago.
They’re trying to fill the gap of prices between the entry level and pro iPads. This is more of a business decision, and to keep the prices low, they have to rely on recycled designs. Plus, the cost of components of pairing/charging method of #2 pencil will significantly increase manufacturing cost.
Don’t get me wrong. I agree that the new pencil is superior.
The iPads I understand, there are at least 10 different variants of the iPad from the Pro, the Air, to the regular iPad, but for the iPad Mini you only have 1 design. A design that has not changed since 2015 apart from minor internal hardware specs. This is just Apple opting to recycle and not to innovate.
and two speakers
Yup. That’s Tim Cook’s Apple. iPhone SE, iPhone 6-8.
Though i can count AirPods and Apple Watch as their innovation.
still torn between the iPad Air 2019, iPad Mini 2019 or iPad Pro 10.5 (2018). Will mainly use it for my Lightroom CC mobile editing. any thoughts/comments/suggestions? Kindly take note that i did not consider the 2018 iPad Pro's since it's beyond my target budget. Thank you in advance for the insights/inputs.
Generally, you should go with the Air,
Mini is too small for graphics Work.
However, if you can find the Pro (10.5) at a discount (and you can still find one), this is a better buy since it has better screen (ProMotion), better speakers, higher RAM, and better graphics. Though A12 is better than the A10X when it comes to CPU, the latter is still plenty fast.
Anyone know of an Apple reseller that offers the iPad Air below online Apple Store prices?
Apple Flagship Store in Lazada. I saw it as low as 25,990 for the base model.
To each his own.
Are these cheap?
