    Re: new imac

The remotes are no longer included with the new iMacs? Since when was this implemented? i know that the remote wasn't included after they revised the "crack-macbook"

SSD available together with normal drives Finally!!!
Now only question is just how long until they arrive locally is the main question...

...Just hope that electronics giants do what Hollywood has been doing lately and release worldwide at more or less the same time...

Well, there I was just minutes ago marveling at how well my late 2009 iMac is handling StarCraft II. :p I said to myself, "It's a good thing my iMac is still somewhat new."

Minutes after that, my iMac became officially old. :p

I think not much of a bump form the previous models.

I was expecting the top end iMac to be i7, oh well. But still, the new iMacs are looking pretty good! Radeon 5750 is a great video card! Just in time. :D

I wonder if the baseline iMac is capable of doing heavy video-editing works.. need some inputs from the vid-pros here..^^

    The quad-core i7 is a $200 option on the high-end 27" quad-core i5 iMac.

Yup yup, I know sir. I was just expecting the i7 processor to be a standard for the high end iMac, and i5 for the lower end ones since the mbp by majority sports an i5 processor. I was hoping to use the extra $200 to push the ram to 8gig. :)

Will be getting the 21.5" 1TB, the 27" is just to much in our bedroom.

The 1TB config also gives you the option to upgrade to an i5 processor for an additional 10k+ ;)

What is interesting is the SSD + Hard Drive BTO combination because this upgrade is probably the one that will really speed up the iMacs. Its a good deal as well, 750 USD is not bad for what you get.

Yep, Apple tends to be very conservative when upgrading their systems. They up their specs just enough to get you excited but not enough to really fully satisfy you. Expect what you predicted to happen the next refresh. :)
